4600 Ross Apartments

I lived here for 1.5 years (May 2022-Dec2023) and I’m gonna start with the pros. The amenities are great! I loved the pool and the interior of my apt (1st & 3rd floors have unique but pretty brown color for cabs & floors). The location is great! You’re literally 7 mins from downtown/uptown/deep Ellum. And Bryson in the leasing office was fantastic! Always very nice and very prompt to follow up on any issues. The cons - this complex is off Ross Ave & that area is still kinda rough. The first year was pretty quiet (heard a gunshot or two but again if you’re moving to this area…). The reason I broke my lease is because my storage unit inside the building was broken into & my brand new luggage was stolen. A couple months later my car (and 40 others) was broken into (Oct 2023). Plus I had an ongoing issue with plumbing in my apt & a couple issues with bugs. So if you’re looking for advice on if you should move here, I’d say don’t. If you’re looking for something quiet but upscale try looking around the walnut hill area. There are a few nice apartments hidden over there & it’s only 10-15 min drive from locations I mentioned above

Update 1-3-24: homeless people in the parking lot and security guard sleeping in their cars and every time I call I get put on hold. This place does not care about residents. But they sure will write you up if you leave your trash out a bit earlier before they can pick it up. It’s ridiculous. Been here for a month now… gate has been broken. I requested for them to come fix my dish washer, they thought I meant next month but I said next Monday which I communicated with them on the phone when they called and they never showed up…. I haven’t had any complaints about the walls being too thin but I guess because I have some quiet neighbors…. Past weekend soooo many cars were broken into, it’s ridiculous how much we pay and they can’t afford a security for the building. Luckily they didn’t break into my car, but I’m already putting money aside to get my window replaced because it will happen sooner or later…. Was super excited to move in here… if it continues to stay like this I won’t be renewing my lease.
